Medication reminders
Ammel is a free medication reminder for iPhone and Android. At every dose time your phone shows a reminder, and you answer it where it is: Taken, Snooze or Skip, without opening the app. The answer is saved with the time you gave it, so the record is right even on a busy day.
The schedules your medications follow
- Every day, at one time or several.
- On chosen weekdays, such as Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
- A course with an end date, after which its reminders stop.
- As needed, with no reminders and a minimum gap. A dose logged inside the gap is still recorded, marked early.
A medication can be paused and resumed. While it is paused, it has no reminders and no doses count against it.
When you don't answer
Snooze brings the reminder back after 15 minutes, or the length you set. With Re-remind if missed on in Settings, a dose you have not answered gets a second reminder, and answering either one cancels the other. A dose left unanswered stays open until midnight, and you can still mark it taken or skipped later, with the time you really took it.
Refills before you run out
Tell Ammel how many tablets or doses are in the box and it counts down as you take them. It says when a medication is running low, with the lead time you choose, so there is time to get the next pack.
Quiet hours and sound
Quiet hours let reminders arrive without sound between two times you set, for the nights. A medication marked to still sound keeps its sound through them. The reminder tone is yours to pick, including silent.
Travel and time zones
Dose times stay in the time zone you chose. When your phone lands in a new one, Ammel asks whether to follow it, and nothing moves until you answer.
Keeping reminders on time
Your phone's system shows the reminders, so its settings decide whether they sound. Ammel's Reminder check reads them for you: notifications, Focus or Do Not Disturb, and on Android Alarms & reminders and battery optimisation.
A phone holds only so many reminders at a time, so each time you open Ammel it sets the next ones. If they would run out before then, one last reminder says “Open Ammel to keep your reminders”. The support page goes through a reminder that didn't arrive.
Ammel is a record-keeping tool, not a medical device. It doesn't give medical advice: follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
Free, with no account. Your record stays on your phone.
